Floral Bicycle, Vancouver, B.C., Canada

Floral Bicycle, Vancouver, B.C., Canada

Vancouver, British Columbia, is one of the grooviest cities I’ve ever visited. It has a bohemian, creative, chic-vibe similar to San Francisco with a dash more international flavor. Granted, I’m basing this on only visiting twice plus a visit to nearby Victoria, but it’s a destination I hope to visit again.

Hey foodies! Pay attention to this sweepstakes. If you watched “Top Chef: Texas” this season then you know the show filmed the season finale in British Columbia. The finale included the final four chefs gathering ingredients at Granville Island Public Market and preparing a dish in Whistler’s PEAK 2 PEAK gondola . Wow, Friday was something else! I’m here in Vancouver for Travel Blog Exchange (#TBEX) and arrived at my hotel around 1 a.m. Friday morning. This post will be brief but wanted to quickly share three highlights of the day. Each of these warrants their own posts and will be posted soon.

Canoeing
Ten other TBEX attendees and I canoed with Takaya Tours through fjords of Burrard and learned of the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation. Definitely a cultural experience learning about the past, present and future. (Booking Office: 700 Apex Avenue North Vancouver, B.C., Tel: 604-904-7410)

Less then 24 hours from now, I’ll be heading off to Vancouver to participate in the third annual Travel Blog Exchange. I’ve been attending since the beginning and my, how it’s grown! It started off with about 100 travel bloggers in one room for most of the day. Last year it grew a bit with more bloggers, more sponsors, and sponsored events.
