The Great Idaho Getaway Project

Idaho is so underrated, overshadowed by states as Montana, Wyoming and Washington but it has bunches to offer ranging from adventure to relaxation. To demonstrate all there is to do, the Idaho Department of Tourism, with assistance from their tourism industry partners, brought a family of four into the Gem State on a 10-day, 2,200 mile adventure. Called “The Great Idaho Getaway Project,” the family vacation has been boiled down to a 32+ minute video highlighting everything awesome about Idaho.

Finnair is seeking four travelers to globe-trot around the world for two months in search of quality travel experiences.

Calling them Quality Hunters, Finnair will send these discerning, outspoken and intrepid travelers on a journey through Asia, Europe and the United States during the months of October and November. Quality Hunters will engage in nonstop travel and will be paid.

The four Quality Hunters will share their journey through a blog with text, photos and video and at the end of the adventure, blog readers will vote for the Top Quality Hunter.

Oh, Oregon. How I love your carefree attitude, tree hugging-spirit, and panache for crafting delicious foods and beverages. Mmm. Mmm. During both trips to Oregon (once in 2010 and the first in 2007) to say I ate well is an understatement.

Seems as though I noshed on everything ranging from fruits and veggies from farmers’ stands to kitchen creations with made with fresh caught seafood. Remember this video from the Portland Farmers Market? And can’t forget sipping wine in Amity and sampling microbrews in Portland.

I recently learned about a contest to win an ultimate foodie experience to Oregon sponsored by Travel Oregon, the state’s tourism marketing agency. Although I want to win, I will share the specifics with you.
