Everyone loves opening up their mailbox and finding a postcard which is why I’ve decided to launch SoloTravelGirl.com’s Postcard of the Month Club. It’s pretty simple and best of all, it’s free for you!

Beginning today, register to receive a postcard from me, Jennifer Huber (aka: Solo Travel Girl), once a month for one year. It may be from another continent, another state or a treasure from my backyard.

Registration is free but open to the first 25 people. I won’t use your postal or email addresses for anything except verifying your address and sending a monthly postcard and possibly a holiday card. You’ll have the option of opting in for a future e-newsletter.

In a world where we’ve lost some personal connections because of the electronic age, this is my gift to you and way of preserving the art of postcards. I wish I could send a card to everyone who wants to participate and maybe in time I’ll be able to expand to 50 participants.

It would be super duper cool if you paid it forward and remembered to drop a card to an old friend, an aunt or someone else who would appreciate a postal surprise.

Registration is open now, Oct. 13, 2012, so go ahead and sign up here.

Jennifer A. Huber is an award-winning travel and outdoor blogger and writer in Southwest Florida. Originally from Buffalo, N.Y., a hiking trail led her to a career path in the tourism industry for more than 30 years. She spent a decade with a park management company in Yellowstone, Death Valley, and Everglades National Parks. She founded the travel blog, SoloTravelGirl.com with the goal of inspiring others to travel alone, not lonely. The unexpected death of her former husband in 2008 reminded her how short life is. His passing was a catalyst for sharing her experiences with the goal of inspiring and empowering others to travel solo. Jennifer holds a Travel Marketing Professional certification from the Southeast Tourism Society, is a certified food judge, member of the NASA Social community, and alum of the FBI Citizens Academy. When not traveling, she is either in the kitchen, practicing her photography skills, or road tripping with her dog, Radcliff.
